This month’s music news:
Well, it could be worse I guess
According to Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino, (perhaps the biggest concert power house in the world for staging thousands of concert tours across the globe.) during an investor call last month said Live Nation plans to resume concerts, albeit in a limited and scaled-down capacity, over the next six months, with the goal of getting back to “full scale” at the start of 2021. In other related music news Marc Geiger, former global head of the William Morris Endeavor music division and the co-founder of Lollapalooza, said in a podcast he feels live music won’t return until 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
So, it’s still gonna be awhile folks. I can not even begin to tell you how much I miss you all. I will also tell you, that I am not taking this sitting down either. More on that later. In the meantime…if you wanna get a dose of rock n roll, please visit and subscribe to the YOUTUBE channel. There you will find many videos of the ONE man “Rock n Roll Love Letter” show, with some surprises coming with regard to what will be the “ALL NEW ROCK N ROLL LOVE LETTER” show to come!
This month’s Rock Star recipe:
Yup….The King! Elvis Presley
It’s no secret, last year when I got to play at the Orpheum theater in Memphis, I fell in love with the cradle of Rock n Roll. Elvis was at ground zero. So much has been written about peanut butter and banana sandwiches, but he did not live on that. This recipe was taken from his uncle’s book. I was actually able to sample this dish (Thank you Meghan Knazek!) and I can tell you…you will make it more than once!
Step-by-Step
Rock n Roll Love Letter News:
Meet the band. Yup, THE BAND!!!! While we (the entertainment business) are dormant during this pandemic, I have resided myself to “up the ante” for the show. We call ourselves “The Jukebox Assassins” but we’re really the “Rock n Roll Love Letter” band.
There is nothing like playing with a real live band. The energy, the push and pull, the emoting…. I believe that “Love Letter” earned it. The one man show was VERY cool for me (hopefully you too) and while the one man show won’t “go away”, it HAS matured now, and I believe it’s a great , organic, progression.
On your left is you’res truly. In the middle is drummer Peter John Colon II, and to your right..Norris “The Naz” Smith holding down the bass.
While we are a three piece band, we are not afraid to use augmentative technology to bring you a much bigger show.
You will be seeing and hearing lot’s of stuff from us. Original music and videos, the Rock n Roll Love Letter stuff, Stripped down acoustic shows and much more.
And finally, a question for you all
I’ve seen a lot of bands do live streams during this pandemic. I have also seen the end result of it being listened to and watched, on a phone or tablet. To me, that is like getting one fifth, of the performance.
My question is two fold.
First: How many of you have a nice LED large screen TV connected to a reasonable sound system that you know how to work?
Second: those of you that do… would you be interested in Live streams on a set or given night, where we could connect in real time over live chat and maybe bring this community of thousands of you together? Kind of like, the next best thing to a concert. Maybe have some friends over, cook the recipe of the month, and listen to music by the band with a direct chat line to us? Let me know at my personal email address: [email protected]
OK, That’s it. Till next month. Remember… I love you all.
Rob
